Cllr. Brian Pearce was born and bred in High Wycombe. He went to two local primary schools and then Mill End Road Secondary Modern. He left school at fifteen and became an apprentice carpenter working for a local company and spent his working life in the building and construction industry before retiring three years ago.
He stood for the Booker and Cressex Ward of Wycombe District Council in 2003 and finished in last place. He stood again in 2007 and tied for second place. After six recounts, he lost on a name out of the hat draw to Cllr. Valerie Razzac. With perseverance and determination, in 2011 Brian was re-elected and again in 2015.
He has also shown great determination in his attempts to become Mayor. Three years ago he stood and tied for the position and lost in a name out of the hat draw. He was nominated again last year and was unsuccessful. Not to be put off, he stood again for the position in 2017/2018 and was elected by his fellow Charter Trustees.
Brian has been consistently active in the community. In the 1960’s he was involved in running a local youth club and in the 1970’s he helped to manage a club for Teens and Twenties. He was and remains involved with the Booker Memorial Hall Management Committee.
He feels passionate about the town of High Wycombe and its history and many diverse cultures. He is very keen to work for the whole community and is determined and tireless in this pursuit.
Brian’s beloved wife sadly passed away seven years ago after 35 years of marriage and he has a disabled son which has prompted him to work actively on behalf of those with disabilities. He has a new partner, Helen.
